Crashes on Mac mini Core Duo running 10.6.8 using external iSight camera when 'Video Recording' is selected and the camera is turned on.
Uses about a third of CPU of said box - more when 'Pre-motion Recording' is set - arguably not a big deal if the box is not in use otherwise, as is likely, though you have to question why.
The 'Pre-motion Recording' feature is good but stops before the main recording starts so there can be gaps of several seconds which can be crucial.
It sometimes stops recording too soon and fails to start again if there's movement very soon after stopping.
There's no built-in nor online 'Help' feature and no support nor bug reporting service.
Usually generates an alert as soon as it starts which appears to be due to it adjusting the camera - it usually not doing so when it is closed and re-opened and started again - which is odd.
It would be good if ir were to...
- place each event in its own folder when writing to disk
- allow window to be placed in the Dock
- allow the video image to be viewed full-screen
...and a whole lot more had I time to test it - though there seems little point if there's no way of reporting problems.
Still, it's free.

Not much use

To be honest, the free version is not much use. No matter how I set it up it generates an alarm within minutes of turning on. I can click on 'Start' and leave the room, close the door and hear the 30 second timedown beep from outside. With the room empty, no pets, no insects, and nothing to move, even with the sensitivity set to minimum the app will alarm within 3 or 4 minutes, generating loads of still images. When I check the images there is no visible difference between them, and nothing to say why an alarm is being generated. So the free version is completely useless, and I'm not inclined to pay extra just to enable features I don't need. Sorry, but it's a no-no from me!

Just what I’ve been looking for

I’ve been using this application for a number of weeks. I bought it following some disappearances from my desk of items. As I work on my own from home, the house is normally occupied with family and a carer for my elderly grandmother. I just needed an app that used the camera on my iMac as a security camera. The settings are easy to understand and I’ve not had any adverse issues so far. Very happy.
